Salt Marsh Trail
The Salt Marsh Trail is part of an extensive trail system utilizing old railway beds. This section, from Bissett Road to Lawrencetown, is especially scenic as it makes use of a series of causeways and bridges to cross over Cole Harbour. Keep your eyes open for blue heron along the way.
Directions:
From Cole Harbour Rd on the edge of Dartmouth, follow Bissett Rd right (south east).
Along Bissett Rd there are three access points to the trail system.
The first parking lot is at an open field and provides access to the Coastal Heritage Provincial Park network of paths.
The second parking lot, further down the road, is labeled the Salt Marsh Trail and is part way to the causeway.
The third parking lot, also labeled the Salt Marsh Trail, is the smallest but also the closest to a walk or bike along the causeway.
